No. R454B is not a "drop-in" replacement for R410A systems.

Safety: R454B is classified as A2L (Mildly Flammable), while R410A is A1 (Non-Flammable). Existing R410A systems are not equipped with the leak sensors or spark-proof components required for A2L gases.
Performance: Charging an R410A system with R454B will void your warranty and could create a significant safety hazard.

R454B is categorized as an A2L "Mildly Flammable" refrigerant.

It is much safer and harder to ignite than hydrocarbons like propane (R290).
However, US regulations require that technicians use A2L-rated tools, including spark-proof vacuum pumps, recovery machines, and specific manifold gauges designed for R454B.
